What your first visit looks like

Plan on about an hour. You'll meet Dr. Kim, we'll take digital X-rays if they're needed, complete a comprehensive exam and oral cancer screening, and walk you through what we see with photos of your own teeth. We accept most major PPO plans and check your benefits before treatment, so the estimate comes before the bill, not after.

How often should I get a checkup and cleaning?

For most people, every six months. If you have gum disease or tend to get cavities, we may suggest coming in more often — the interval is set for you, not by the calendar.

Do you see whole families?

Yes — kids, parents, and grandparents. Mention it when you book and we can often put family members back-to-back, so one trip covers everyone.

Do I have to go somewhere else for a specialist?

Usually not. Our on-site periodontist places implants and treats gum disease, our on-site endodontist does root canals, and Dr. Kim restores and coordinates — all in the same Valencia office, with the same records.

Is a checkup covered by insurance?

We accept most major PPO plans, and most cover preventive visits like exams and cleanings at or near 100% — though what counts as preventive, and how often, is set by your plan. We check your benefits before treatment, so you know first. No insurance? Ask about our in-house Savers Plan.

What if I'm nervous about the dentist?

Tell us when you book. Plenty of our patients came in after years of putting the dentist off, and the approach is the same for everyone: we go at your pace, show you what we see with photos of your own teeth, explain each step before it happens, and nothing starts until you've said yes to the plan.
