HOME CARE INSTRUCTION - INVISALIGN® ALIGNERS
- WEAR TIME: Wear your aligners 20–22 hours a day. Take them out only to eat, brush, and floss.
- NEW ALIGNERS: Each new set may feel tight and sore for 1–2 days. This means they are working. Tylenol or Advil can help.
- EATING AND DRINKING: Take aligners out to eat or drink anything except plain water. Brush your teeth before you put them back in, so food is not trapped.
- CLEANING: Rinse the aligners every time you take them out. Brush them gently with a soft toothbrush and cool or lukewarm water. Do not use hot water. It can bend the plastic.
- CASE: Keep aligners in the case when they are out. Do NOT wrap them in a napkin. Many aligners are thrown away this way. Keep them away from pets.
- CHANGING SETS: Change to the next set only as Dr. Kim tells you (usually every 2–3 weeks).
- ATTACHMENTS AND ELASTICS: If a tooth-colored bump (attachment) falls off or you lose an elastic, call us. Keep wearing your aligners.
- LOST OR BROKEN ALIGNER: Do not stop wearing aligners. Call the office at 661-857-7662. We may tell you to wear the last set or the next set.
- SPEECH: A slight lisp is common for the first few days and gets better.
