HOME CARE INSTRUCTION AFTER - ORAL SEDATION
- GOING HOME: A responsible adult must take you home. Do not take a taxi or rideshare alone.
- NEXT 24 HOURS: Do not drive, use machines or tools, or make important decisions for at least 24 hours.
- STAY WITH SOMEONE: Have an adult stay with you for the rest of the day. You may be sleepy and unsteady. Hold on to someone when you walk or use stairs.
- NO ALCOHOL: Do not drink alcohol or take sleep medicine or other sedatives for 24 hours, unless your sedation dentist says it is OK.
- MEDICINE: Take only the medicines we prescribed, as directed. Ask us before taking anything else.
- EATING: Start with water and light, soft food. Then eat normally as you feel better.
- YOUR DENTAL PROCEDURE: Also follow the home care instructions for the dental procedure you had today.
- CALL US: If you are still very sleepy the next day or keep vomiting, call the office at 661-857-7662.
- EMERGENCY: CALL 911 if the person is very hard to wake up, has trouble breathing, or their lips turn blue.
